Valentines-Kindness Goes The Distance

I waited longer than I should to address a Valentine for a very dear Aunt.

I poured over the flower options online only to find that it wasn't what I really wanted to send. So I moved on to chocolates, then to cheesecake, and then back to flowers. Nothing seemed to really fit what I was looking for.

Starting to feel desperate, I went back to the flower options again and thought, "Just get on with it, before it's Easter!"

I happened to spot a site that offered free delivery; it seemed to add that something I needed to get going with my decision. After much ado I chose the bouquet, filled out the ship-to/bill-to information and now the final checkout was near and the much prolonged Valentine about to be on it's way. When much to my surprise did appear a delivery chargeand not just one but two!!!  Yeah, this is not working.  So I move out of this plan.

I start thinking...what would she really enjoy? It came to mind, when I had gone for a visit last September, there was a favorite place she liked to get coffee and a cranberry muffin.
I called the coffee shop in Michigan, asked to speak with the manager, explained I was calling from California and wondering if they had a delivery service. "No, we sure don't."  I went on to explain that my aunt had not so long ago had hip surgery and I wasn't sure she could get out and about and she just loves your coffee and cranberry muffin. She said, "Hold please."  And a couple seconds later she was back with, "We will take care of everything. Can I get her address?" I was so delighted I quickly offered my credit card.  "No we will take care of everything." I thanked her for her very gracious offer, hung up and anxiously awaited its arrival.

The next morning, Valentines Day, I received a call from my aunt who was just over the moon with the surprise. "Oh it was such a nice treat to have. I thoroughly enjoyed it!"
And she said the girls at the coffee shop just couldn't get over it... a call from California!

Who would have thought I was such a star...I just thought I was a day late and a dollar short!

It's just the littlest things in life that can make all the difference in somebody's world.

New Adventures

This blog is a vehicle to express my thoughts on Life. Its expression is meant to give a reverence to spirit by celebrating, even if by simple acknowledgement how truly magnificent we are.
Life...How do I love thee...Let me count the ways.

There is an endless number of ways to finish that phrase. This blog will continually ask that you do so and offer a sort of curiosity shop for looking at things with new eyes.

Its offerings are meant to be an encouragement to being responsible for the energy we each bring to each day, hour, minute, moment. Our thoughts are creating. Watch over them with abandon.

Something to ponder... If you want to know what you were thinking yesterday, look around you today. If you want to know what tomorrow will look like, Look at your thoughts today.

It was through a gentle throw down by my first born who interestingly enough, is expecting his first born, that I managed to enter the world of blogging. It is to him that this page is dedicated, with the hope of many more to follow.
